Although the iPhone 16 models are powered by the same A15 chip as the iPhone 13 Pro, they have been designed internally for better thermal performance. The new A18 chip includes a Hexa-core CPU, a 5-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine. Furthermore, the iPhone 16 models are equipped with a dual-core accelerometer that can measure forces up to 256Gs. This accelerometer, paired with a high dynamic range gyroscope, supports the Crash Detection feature, which can notify emergency services if you’re in a serious accident and unable to use your phone. Apple has integrated various sensors for this functionality, including a barometer to track changes in cabin pressure, GPS for monitoring speed fluctuations, and a microphone to pick up sounds related to car crashes.
