The iPhone 16 series is available in two sizes: 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches, with the larger model known as the “iPhone 16 Plus.” These new devices showcase a modern design with flat edges, a sturdy aerospace-grade aluminum frame, and a glass back that supports wireless charging. The iPhone 16 lineup is equipped with the A18 chip, which is also present in the iPhone 13 Pro but features an improved internal design for enhanced thermal efficiency. The A18 chip includes a Hexa-core CPU, a 5-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine. Additionally, the iPhone 16 models are equipped with a dual-core accelerometer capable of measuring forces up to 256Gs. This accelerometer, along with a high dynamic range gyroscope, enables the Crash Detection feature, which can alert emergency services if you’re involved in a serious accident and unable to access your phone. Apple has also added various sensors for this feature, including a barometer to monitor cabin pressure changes, GPS for tracking speed variations, and a microphone to detect sounds associated with car crashes.
